WASHINGTON, D.C.—President George W. Bush and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez today announced that five organizations are the recipients of the 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest Presidential honor for organizational performance excellence. For the first time in the history of the Baldrige Award, nonprofit organizations have been selected.

CRITERIA
The Michigan Quality Council uses the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence with a one year lag. Applications to the MQC may be written to the current year Baldrige Criteria or to the immediate past year. Both versions are below and may also be found on the Baldrige web site at
www.quality.nist.gov.
